The Map

Map The List : London is split up into three layers - The Food, The Bars and The Pubs & Breweries. You can switch them on and off as you wish. The Food section is the most broad - cafés, ice cream parlours, restaurants, street food, burger joints etc can all be found here. Most of the visited places have links back to the blog so that you can see what we thought of them. Anywhere with an asterisk * next to it hasn't been visited yet, but everything that makes it on to Map The List : London is worth checking out.

To open the Map The List : London in full, click HERE or click the icon in the top right hand corner of the map.

UPDATE: It would seem that you can now overlay the maps on Google Maps which means that you can access them quickly (minimal loading time) on your smartphone or your browser, and also "cache" them for offline use if you so wish. All you have to do is click on the little star next to the Map The List : London title on the map (see above). Map The List : London should then appear in your Google Maps, either under "Your Places" or "My Maps".

N.B. You will need to be signed in to a Google account for this to work.

If this all sounds too fiddly, there are a couple of apps that you can use, but you may need me to directly share the map with you in order to view it.  Android users should download the My Maps app which works fairly well, though it's slow compared to just loading it on Google Maps.  Apple users can use Maps Engine Viewer app, which has the option to cache sections offline. But I would strongly recommend working out how to get it linked up to your Google Maps app as explained above.

  2. Hi Matt I was trying to use the list to find some nice restaurants with my girlfriends and was hoping you could do a little more south of the river? Also - can't get the map to load on the above screen - only by opening it in full. And every time I try to access it on my iPhone it crashes. Any suggestions? xxx

    1. Hi Mary, I've got a few things coming up South of the river, but I'll never be able to match Soho & East London for options I'm afraid! Any areas in particular? I might be able to give some tips that aren't on the map anyway. Email me at matthew1hickman [at] gmail [dot] com and I can hopefully be of assistance!

I'm not sure why it's not loading for you, perhaps it would eventually? Is that on an iPad or a laptop? There is a lot of information in there so it can take a long time to load on some devices. The full screen version is much better anyway, so maybe just save a link to that instead? On phones, try downloading the app, Google Maps Engine, which is the same system that I made the map on. I might have to specifically share it with you for that to work, but give it a try!
